Born and raised in a small beach town in Mexico, Eduardo has always been sort of a big fish in a small pond. Since he was young he has always been restless and this is why he had the urge of traveling and becoming an adventurer.
He started this adventure at the early age of 17, when he met this amazing crew of European high school students. There was something about their culture, language, and personality that awoke a restless desire to discover what else was out there. So he decided to get out of town and start this new story.
He studied in Germany for one year, with a family who didn’t have a clue where Mexico was or didn’t speak another language besides their own (German). He was a bit afraid of what he heard about this country or culture. (They say Germans are cold and boring eh? Well, not at all)…First day at school and he had already made amazing friends, who during this whole year were in charge of making him feel exactly at home and they made sure he learnt the language.
He traveled around Germany and Europe with incredible people (30 students from all around the world to be exact) learning about every city, every culture, and every person he met (He even had his very first love)
Anyways…this is how this Gypsetter story started.
He studied international business at Universidad Anahuac Norte in Mexico City, but still this was not enough. After learning his third language (Spanish, English and German) he decided to go to Curitiba, Brazil to learn Portuguese and traveled around to see these tropical and wild places.
But as you know it’s not all about traveling, he was still in college and had a lot to learn. So this is when he applied for an internship at Siemens in Germany (Yes, he felt in love with this country and the amazing friends he made, and he had to be back) working for this incredible company for two months in Erlangen, and at the age of 20 he found himself in charge of a project in the energy sector in the quality management area.
Europe, Brazil…what’s next?
Aye aye mate…YES! Australia. 6 months before he was about to graduate from college he decided to make a pause. Do you want to know the reason why? LOVE…well almost. It didn’t go well, he lived in Sydney and traveled to the Gold Coast visiting some friends and got back just in time to graduate.
Travel, languages, love, adventures, new friends…this story keeps going.
Time to settle down for a bit.
He started working as marketing coordinator at El Palacio de Hierro as his very first official job, learning from the best bosses anyone could have ever asked for. This is where he learnt about fashion and luxury.
Follow your dream or quit?
He got an offer in LVMH Paris, so he had to make a decision. Quit the dream job or follow his dreams? Well, he quit…went to Paris and…trouble. This position was not available anymore, but hey what can you do if you are already in France?
He never gave up, and went to Lille with this incredible friend he made in El Palacio de Hierro back in Mexico to learn French and make the best of this time. But (no longer than two weeks) when he got a call from Gucci in Paris, he had a couple of interviews and …HE GOT THE JOB! Who would have thought after being all down in the dumps for so long, he would receive such amazing news?
Long story short…he had to go back to Mexico for all the visa permits… and sadly for Mexicans back then it was not that easy. Due to this time-consuming process, Gucci had to call it off.
But you know what they say…when a door closes a bigger one opens. After this frustrating news he kept his head up and went on. Sooner than he thought he received a call from Calvin Klein Mexico for a marketing and social media position, and he got it. Lucky eh? Great bosses, dream job, amazing friends.
After having this awesome opportunity of working for a global company and getting to learn about fashion and retail. He received an offer to change to PR of Luxury brands, which he accepted.
To be continued….
